Mission Valley shopping is local-owned hardware, Main Street boutiques, art galleries, Amish-run general stores, farm stands during cherry season, and the one large grocery in each town that anchors weekly life. Plus a few cannabis dispensaries since Montana legalization. No mall, no chain bookstore.
Cherry season runs late July to early August. The farm stands along the east shore of Flathead Lake are where most of the valley’s seasonal commerce actually happens.
