Lake County Planning Department
Subdivision, zoning, lakeshore and floodplain permits
About the listing The work
The Lake County Planning Department handles land use for the county from the Dave Stipe Annex in Polson. If you’re splitting land, building on the lakeshore or in a floodplain, or need a zoning or building notification permit, this is the office that reviews it, along with surveys, plats and the county’s Growth Policy.
Planners meet by appointment for project questions, so call or email to set one up. Applications run through Cloudpermit, where you can check status and message your planner. The office closes at 3:15 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month for board meetings.
