About the listing The work
Fort Connah is a historic Hudson’s Bay Company fur-trading post north of St. Ignatius on Highway 93, built in 1847 and active until 1871. It’s considered the last Hudson’s Bay post built in the United States, and one of its three original buildings still stands, believed to be among the oldest buildings in Montana. The site is cared for by the Fort Connah Restoration Society.
Tours are by appointment, and the grounds open to the public during the rendezvous gatherings, including the annual event on Father’s Day weekend. Call (406) 644-2882 to arrange a visit.
