Qene’s Catering
Indigenous catering rooted in Salish foodways
About the listing The eat & drink
Qene’s Catering is an Indigenous food business run by Trina Fyant, who started it in 2016 and took it full time in 2018. The name comes from qeneʔ, a Salish word for paternal grandmother, and that’s the feeling she’s after: food that tastes like it came from grandma’s kitchen. She cooks with huckleberries, bison, morel mushrooms, manoomin (wild rice), and local organic produce, and labels dishes in Salish. The business has even catered for the cast and crew of Yellowstone.
Beyond events, Qene’s also offers Indigenous food consulting. Reach out on Facebook or email qenescatering@gmail.com to talk through your gathering and the menu you have in mind.
