RONAN · DO & SEE
Garden of the Rockies Museum
A local history museum in Ronan
About the listing The do & see
The building itself is the first artifact: Ronan’s original 1910 Catholic parish hall, moved here in 1980 with its embossed tin ceiling and walls still intact. Mission Valley Heritage Association started collecting pioneer-era pieces in the 1950s, storing them in the basement of the Old Brick School until this campus came together on land the Ronan School District donated. Wander through and you’ll find farm and ranch tools, household and business furnishings, and Native American artifacts alongside the hand-hewn Sloan Stage Stop with its dovetail joinery, a one-room Little Red School House, and a memorial rose garden out back. It opens for the season in June, so call (406) 676-5210 or check their Facebook page before you drive out to Round Butte Road.
