The Garden of One Thousand Buddhas is an open-air Buddhist sculpture garden outside Arlee, built by the Ewam Sang-Ngag Ling Foundation around an octagonal central stupa surrounded by a thousand identical buddha figures. The site is open to the public year-round, free of charge.
The garden is designed as a place of contemplation. Visitors are welcome to walk the paths, sit, photograph respectfully, and stay as long as they like. Annual events including the Peace Festival each summer are open to the public.
The space is genuinely transporting under snow and during the long Mission Valley evenings. The Missions stand up to the east. Twenty minutes south of St. Ignatius, fifteen minutes north of the Arlee Powwow grounds. Donations are welcome but not required.
