About this site
Explore Mission Valley
A field guide to the Mission Valley, made in St. Ignatius.
There’s no canonical digital reference for the Mission Valley. Local information lives across chamber sites that don’t talk to each other. Tourism for the area gets folded into “Glacier Country” from somewhere east. Visitors find fragments. Locals fall back to Facebook.
This site is the alternative. One place, built locally.
Who it’s for
If you’re planning a trip, start with the home page and town pages. Editorial picks the surface of the valley you’ll want to see first. The directory fills in the rest.
If you live here, the directory is the practical part. Search works. Filter by town, category, or what you’re actually trying to get done.
If you run a business in the valley, you almost certainly belong here. Listings are claimable, editable, and free. See List Your Business.
How it pays
Listings are free. Free, permanently, for every business in the valley.
Not free-with-an-asterisk, not free-for-the-first-tier.
Money comes from sponsors who want to reach valley visitors. They pay for prominent placement on the home page, in the editorial, and a few key surfaces. What they buy is access to the audience, not better treatment of their own listing. Listings stay flat regardless. Same template, same visibility, same editorial standards whether you’re a sponsor or not.
See Advertise for what’s available.
The CSKT relationship
The Mission Valley exists on the Flathead Indian Reservation, governed by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. Cultural content involving the tribes is co-written, commissioned from tribal contributors, or sourced from direct interviews. We do not speak for the tribes. We point to them where appropriate.
For tribal news: Char-Koosta News. For the cultural center: Three Chiefs Culture Center. For tribal government: cskt.org. For education: Salish Kootenai College.
Who built it
Built by Kyle Wright at Celtic Winter Web Development in St. Ignatius. The site runs on WordPress with a custom theme. It’s not affiliated with any chamber, tribe, agency, or franchise.
